Hey gang! As I’ve recently been made aware, there has been some major slackage on the KS blog. Thanks to Coral and Amy for pointing that out and putting me in check. So, here we go with a Friday post to get the weekend started off right!
How about a few reasons why this Friday should be a happy one?
Reason 1: Marination Station
I just learned that in one week from today our beloved Marination Mobile will be opening a permanent restaurant location in Capitol Hill called Marination Station! The Station will be serving all the same grub, and will be blessed with the same amount of Aloha. The main difference: they will be open ALL DAY! The days of kicking yourself for scheduling a lunch meeting and not being able to make it to the truck between 11-2 are over. Missed the truck? Not to worry. Get your butt up to Capitol Hill and grab yourself some tacos. Check out the menu on their new website! Oh, and they’ll have beer and wine too 🙂
Reason 2: Seattle Supercross
Tomorrow, something actually worth cheering for will happen in Qwest Field. DIRTBIKES. Bubba Stewart, Chad Reed, and Ryan Villopoto are in town to put on a show for all of us motoheads. Kevin Windham won it last year, and I’d love to see him win it again. But the field is stronger than ever, and I think it’s anyone’s race. I was hoping to see Trey Canard put up a fight, but he’s out with a broken femur. The day will start early with Billy at the grill for some tailgate action! Braaap!
Reason 3: Team NWCF runs the Northwest! …So far 🙂
We are just past the halfway mark in the 6-week long CrossFit Games Open competition, and Team NWCF currently stands in 1st place in the Northwest Region! This week is sure to bring some challenges to the team as WOD 11.4 has muscle ups, which are a pretty tough exercise for a lot of athletes. I still have a good feeling that we’ll be in a good position once the standings are updated after week 4. To follow the team, check out our team page for the latest scores and standings. Here are some videos of NWCF athletes throwing down last week for WOD 11.3. Let’s get it!
